Connection trouble

The Spine Desktop controls the users permissions in Revit, access to Spine Projects and that the Revit file respond with the right Spine Project.
Therefore users must be logged into the Spine Desktop to use the Revit plugin.

1. Trouble getting the Revit plugin to work

Below are some messages users can receive in Revit, when there is connection problems.

  1. Connection failed
    When a user is not logged into the Spine Desktop, this message appears when trying to refresh the license
    Log into the Desktop and make sure you are connected to the internet
  2. Access denied
    When a user is logged into the Spine Desktop, but is missing a license, this message appears when opening Revit
    Try to refresh and contact your Company Administrator if you still are missing a license
  3. No license
    When a user is logged into the Spine Desktop, but is missing a license, this message appears when trying to refresh the license
    Contact the Company Administrator to get a license
2. Other connection blockers

The connection between the Reivt plugin and the Spine Desktop can also be blocked by firewalls and VPN connections. Check out these settings.
